June 2016 Featured Curves Moves

There’s no reason not to keep up with your fitness routine this summer! Our circuit is designed to help you build strength, balance and flexibility, all in 30 minutes per session. Let’s sneak a peek at two featured Curves workout moves:

Squat Machine

This machine will strengthen the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, iliopsoas, tensor fasciae latae, and adductors. Stand with feet shoulder width apart.  Grasp the handles lightly.  Extend your bottom back as you slowly lower to a comfortable position resisting gravity.  Power up quickly but avoid locking out your knee joints.
This machine is great to help gain strength in a functional manner for many routine activities such as using the restroom, getting up and down from a chair or in and out of a car.

Single Leg Balance

Stand with feet shoulder distance apart.  Raise hands overhead straightening out the arms without locking the elbows.  Keeping the body lengthened and reaching up towards the ceiling, slide the right leg forward and up until it’s parallel to the ground.  Maintain a steady breathing pattern throughout the move. This move will help maintain balance for movement in daily living.
