Together Curves Unites for Women
Curves is committed to supporting the health and well-being of women both within our club and in the community. During the month of October, Curves Clubs once again collaborated to raise vital funds to support Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon in Australia and the Look Good Feel Better charity in New Zealand.
Fundraising activity included in-club events and competitions as well as a special $10 joining fee offer (which was donated to charity) and the sale of limited edition Curves Pink Bags (again with a donation to charity).
Specifically, this year marked the 10th year of our partnership with Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon. To date, Curves has raised over $1.65m through the fundraising efforts of our clubs and members. The money raised goes to aid world-class Cancer research, care and prevention.
This year we hope to raise over $50k.
In Australia, it is estimated that every day, about 50 women are diagnosed with breast or a gynaecological cancer. In New Zealand the number is around 7. Early detection is critical and can save lives. We would encourage you to visit your doctor if you have any concerns with your body.
Exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle and research has shown that regular exercise helps to prevent disease. At Curves we welcome women of any age and fitness ability to come and workout in a safe and supportive environment.
If you are already a member – encourage your friends and family, particularly those who may be ‘anti-gym’ to experience Curves for themselves. If you are not currently a Curves member and are looking for a fun, fast and effective way to get fit and healthy – please feel welcome to give us a call and find out more about our personalised programmes and support.
